Kazakhstan → United Arab Emirates

The mandate

Anthracite

A 1,400-member wheat cooperative in northern Kazakhstan grew more grain than its regional buyers could absorb — and sold it, year after year, into a saturated local market at the price the elevator dictated.

We were asked to find it a second home. Over nine months we mapped the milling demand of the Gulf, vetted off-take, and brokered the relationships that turned a single harvest into a standing export line.

The two sides

Supplier

Steppe Grain Union

Kostanay, Kazakhstan

A farmer-owned cooperative milling-grade hard red wheat, certified to export standard but without a route to the buyers who valued it.

Buyer

Three Gulf mills

Jebel Ali & Dammam

Industrial flour mills running below capacity, seeking a consistent, traceable wheat supply outside their incumbent contracts.

Outcome

42k
tonnes contracted in the first season
3

The grain never changed. The market it could reach did.
